Bonnie, Stepford Wives (9/10)

Ok sorry I haven't been posting because I've been writing so much!! This is a good development. But anyways, Stepford Wives released their debut album, "Bonnie" on 4/17/26. I've been a Stepford Wives groupie for about eight months now. I met Ben (lead guitar) in August on the first day of my job training. He assistant teaches 8th grade social studies and I assistant teach 7th grade English at the same school. On that first day of training for new teachers, we went around in a circle and were supposed to say one word that was something we loved (or something like that), and I said music, and then Ben was next and he said music too. He'd just been touring with Daffo all summer. I saw the wives live for the first time when they played a show at Trans-Pecos in October, and I was blown away honestly. All friend bias aside, they are really fucking good, especially live. I'd been hounding Ben about this release all year, following the progress of it from his perspective, and it's outshone even my wildest expectations, just getting better with every re-listen. Lily and Ava's vocals are so good and the harmonies even better. Lyrics are great. And then Ben just fucking shreds even though I hate to admit it. We bonded over our similar taste in music, and maybe that makes me more prone to his riffs, but I don't think so. Cabe compliments them all well on drums, and they are really tight both live and recorded. Have had these songs on repeat for the last month, and their album release house show was great. I'll include a video here. Can't recommend this album enough. Fresh, new indie rock that is bound to blow up. Fav tracks: TJ2, Cassavetes Picture, After Red 40,

And here's a pic of Ben chilling in the sun yesterday. <3
