Anyway, Anamanaguchi (4/10)

Anamanaguchi dropped their most recent album on 8/8/25 w Polyvinyl. Honestly I was kinda disappointed. I was really into the single "Darcie" earlier this year, tho I hadn't been following the later singles. I don't know I just don't really like any of the other songs!! They are okay, but don't feel exceptional in any way to me in the crowded genre of contemporary alt/indie rock. I like the garagey sound that they have, especially in "Darcie," but yeah idk this album didn't really do it for me esp compared to the greats like Ovlov. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also I feel like a lot of bands these days are coopting Japanese aesthetics for clout and even tho the band's name comes from a blend of different fashion houses, I still feel like it plays on that (at least to me).
