SABLE, fABLE, Bon Iver (6/10)
Bon Iver released his latest LP on 4/11/25 w Jagjaguwar. Bella's been really digging it (she gives it an 8/10) and has been trying to put me on. But idk it's just not my taste I guess even though I will give Vernon his flowers for his production genius and overall genius. To me I felt that in early Bon Iver (for emma days) I liked the simple indie folk with his excellent songwriting and voice and then in the 2022, a million days (what cemented him as a genius to me), he really started pushing all boundaries. Here it feels like he's using all those qualities in a more poppy way, which is still good music just more boring to me and feels like it draws on a lot of other sounds I've heard over the duration of his ouvre. I'm being a little harsh even tho I honestly have enjoyed listening to it as bella keeps playing it, but when it comes to it, I find it a bit boring and also not my fav genre. Also has notable features from Dijon and Danielle Haim. Fav tracks: Walk Home, I'll Be There
