White Roses, My God, Alan Sparhawk (5/10)
Alan Sparhawk of Low released his first solo album since the passing of Mimi Parker on 9/27/24 w Sub Pop, and it wasn't anything like I was expecting. Extremely electronic w his voice distorted by a pedal for the whole album, it starts off kinda Daft Punky before devolving into less clubby beat-driven songs. I have a ton of respect for Sparhawk as a musician and respect for this album which I understand as a way through grief, but it just wasn't for me personally. A couple good club songs but didn't love most of it. Fav tracks: Get Still, I Made This Beat, Black Water
