Watch Me Drive Them Dogs Wild, Merce Lemon (7/10)

So much amazing new music this month! Merce Lemon also dropped on 9/27/24 w Darling Recordings. An album I had been super excited for after her singles and just falling in love with her sound over the last few months. On first listen, I was a bit disappointed but have listened a lot more and it just keeps getting better. Nothing will top "Backyard Lover" which she released as a single in July and which will def make my top songs of the year list, but then.. it was going to be hard to top that. Some slow stuff and some more grungy rock, but her voice and the guitar are just so dang good regardless of tempo. One of my new fav indie rockers for sure. I also like that the album seems to be reckoning w her queerness. Fav tracks: Backyard Lover, Slipknot, Watch Me Drive Them Dogs Wild
