Feats of Engineering, Fantasy of a Broken Heart (7/10)

Debut album of NY self-described prog pop band Fantasy of a Broken Heart came out 9/27/24 w Dots Per Inch Music. Really awesome stuff that totally fulfills the expectations and self-designation of prog pop. Innovative. Novel. Unique song structure. And I think it does live up to the title as well w some stellar production. Don't always love the vocals which can be a bit too theatrical for me (this happens w prog rock for me too), but there's a lot of songs on this album I really admire. Loved the singles "AVF" and "Ur Heart Stops" which they released earlier, and they're still probs my two favorite songs on the album, but I'm not disappointed by the rest. :P I'm always so excited by bands making music that doesn't sound like anything I've heard. Fav tracks: AVF, Ur Heart Stops, Doughland
