Alligator Bites Never Heal, Doechii (7/10)

Doechii released this mixtape (she is calling it a mixtape rather than an album) on 8/30/24 w Top Dawg/Capital Records. I've been a Doechii fan for a while (luv "Persuasive" a lot), though this might be the first full album I've listened to? It was a lot more hip-hoppy than I expected after hearing her more poppy club banger type stuff which I found really exciting (gets more poppy in second half tho). While I didn't love every track, she is clearly a fkn awesome rapper and her skills are exceling here fs. One drawback is the transphobic lyric "turns out the girl was really a dude" on probs my fav track, DENIAL IS A RIVER 😭😣. Other than that solid thumbs up from me. Fav tracks: DENIAL IS A RIVER, WAIT, NISSAN ALTIMA

Revision 2/10/25 lmao. Okay uncancelling Doechii cuz I didn't understand that lyric right. Although I still think it's easily misunderstood lol. Changing this to a 7/10 cuz of that and it's also aged like fine wine.
