Disaster Trick, Horse Jumper of Love (8/10)

Horse Jumper of Love dropped their most recent album, "Disaster Trick" on 9/16/24 w Run for Cover Records. I'd been pretty excited for this release after thoroughly enjoying the singles and being stoked on the MJ Lenderman collab. I think they probably lived up to the expectations! A rare occurrence. Sometimes w shoegazey stuff, it is easy for the music to just wash over you and to miss some of the nuances. At least this happens to me a lot. So it's awesome when you can go back and the songs continue to get better w each progressive listen, which I think this album definitely does. HJOL maintains their status as a staple of the genre for me. Fav tracks: Wink, Lip Reader, Wait By the Stairs
