The Gloss, Cola (5/10)

I just can't seem to like Cola!!! I've seen a lot of hype around this album w Pitchfork giving it a 7.6 and Margaux the music influencer saying it was one of her top albums of the first half of the year, but I did not love this album. Dropped 6/14/24 w Fire Talk. I think I gave Cola a try last year and had the same reaction, but this is the first album I have record of rating/reviewing. Vocals remind me a lot of Alex Turner in a way I don't like, and I just don't love the instrumentals either. Only one song I liked on this album and that is "Pulling Quotes," which I actually do like a lot. Other than that, though, very meh for me. Respectable but not my cup of tea.
