The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart (8/10)

A fantastic album somewhere between The Jesus and Mary Chain and Ride and The Smiths (w better vocals), but decades later! The Pains of Being Pure at Heart was a New York group active from 2007-2019. And this album came out in 2009!! Kinda crazy cuz you'd guess 90's or 80's I swear. Anyways, a fantastic p much no-skip album w super fuzzy lush guitar and dream pop melodies. Docked it a bit for not doing anything particularly new or novel but otherwise it's great. Also a pretty easy listening experience w 10 songs at 35 minutes. Fav tracks: Contender, Come Saturday, Stay Alive
