Wisecrack, Hailey Blais (6/10)

Wow! This actually exceeded my expectations. Hailey Blais dropped her sophomore album on 9/15/23. The album starts off kind of slow and I was worried what happened w the Leith Ross album this year would happen to her - where the songs get boring and start to run together in that way that happens sometimes w singer songwriters. But the album really ramped up in the middle and to the end! And it ends on a nice song w field recordings of birds. A testament to the effort that went into this album to keep it from getting boring maybe haha. It gets more shoegazey a little towards the end w distorted guitar which was a great surprise and probs what kept me here. Fav tracks: Concrete, Body, Winner
