Transit Byzantium, Bill Fox (7/10)

This is a 1998 record from Bill Fox, of Cleveland indie rock band The Mice. I got into The Mice recently and dig their stuff a lot, but this is the first album of Fox's solo stuff that I've listened to. I was really pleasantly surprised! It's much more stripped back and folky than The Mice's stuff. Honestly, a lot of it sounds really Dylan-esque. Perhaps if Dylan was still young in 98 and doing a bit more experimental stuff (only a bit, this album is not super experimental lol at all). The songwriting is great. It's a great love album w some great songs to send yr luvr. V sweet. Fav tracks: I'll Give It Away, Quartermaster's Wintertime, Song of a Drunken Nightingale
