Dressed in Trenches (EP), Lifeguard (5/10)

Chicago youth/recently signed Matador band, Lifeguard released their second EP on 7/7/23. I'd really liked the first single from the EP (17-18 Lovesong) and gave it an 8/10 in my review, so I was pretty excited for this drop (esp since it's their first drop since signing w Matador). It's a five song 18 minute EP w some sick guitar, but it's a bit too hardcore for my taste I think. Didn't love any of the new songs as much as that first single. Even while I don't love for my taste, though, it's an album that I can def respect, and I'll keep following the band for sure. Fav tracks: 17-18 Lovesong, Alarm
