17-18 Lovesong, Lifeguard (8/10)

New single from recently Matador-signed Chicago youth band, Lifeguard, dropped today (5/3/23). Was really impressed! Have listened to their stuff before and not loved them, but honestly fuck w this. A bit noisy and reminiscent of The Cleaners from Venus or maybe some Squid/BCNR. But I still thought it wasn't too discordant and found most of it pretty melodic/nice to listen to. The single also came w an announcement of debut releases under Matador including one new EP out July 7th. awesome stuff!
