Wamono Groove: Shakuhachi & Koto Jazz Funk '76, Kiyoshi Yamaya (7/10)

New compilation album came out of groovy Japanese jazz/funk recorded in the 70's! Some super awesome stuff here that Bella put me on to. Came out on 1/28/22 (last year), so a song from this album made it into my top songs of 2022. You get some cool sounds from Japanese instruments that pair really well with the genre. I'm not the biggest jazz fan; I do prefer the rhythms of rock n roll to the syncopation off jazz/funk - but, I still loved some of the songs on this tape. Def recommend. Favorite tracks: Hohai-Bushi, Otemoyan, Aizu Bandaisan
