Dig Me In: A Dig Me Out Covers Album, Sleater-Kinney (6/10)
Ok after almost a month, I am back from hiatus reviewing some albums. On 10/21/22, Sleater-Kinney dropped this album of covers of their breakthrough 1977 album, Dig Me Out. The album features thirteen different artists/bands doing covers: St. Vincent, Wilco, Margo Price, Tunde Adebimpe, Self Esteem, Courtney Barnett, Black Belt Eagle Scout, The Linda Lindas, Jason Isbell/Amanda Shires, Tyler Cole, Big Joanie, Low, and NNAMDÏ. It's a solid album with a great cast of artists, and I was honestly really impressed by how creative people were with the covers (changing the genre, changing the sound, making it their own). I was only okay on most of the songs, still preferring the originals, but it's a fun listen and there are a few bangers for sure. Favorite tracks: Turn It On (Margo Price), Words and Guitar (Courtney Barnett), It's Enough (Black Belt Eagle Scout)
