Cures for Opposites, Ruby Haunt (5/10)

I really like a couple of the songs off Ruby Haunt's 2016 "Sugar" album, so I keep listening to the band, hoping they'll make some more stuff like that, but honestly I've been a bit disappointed. On 11/17/22, they dropped this short album (7 songs, 29 minutes). It's okay. It's got their signature lo-fi synth poppy vibe, but none of the songs really stood out as bangers to me. This was how I'd felt about some of the singles they dropped, so I was hoping they'd turn up the heat for the rest of the album, but it feels a lot like the singles. Disappointing and also because a lot of the tracks sound rather similar. Favorite track: Pocketknife
