PIRATE RADIO*, Jean Dawson (7/10)

Jean Dawson continues to impress me with his range!!!! New single from Dawson out on 9/16/22 really sounds like Bon Iver 22, a Million era! Wild how a folk artist and a rapper can both end up in a similar place when they move towards their experimental electronic impulses. This song has heavy violin and instrumentation as well as the electronicization of those instruments, making it feel like that Bon Iver stuff (which I am a sucker for). Like a lot of other experimental artists, Jean Dawson is often hit or miss from me, and though he's had a couple misses for me in recent months/years, this is for sure a hit. Really into how diverse his catalogue is becoming. !
