Hold the Girl, Rina Sawayama (4/10)

Rina dropped her third studio album today (9/16/22) titled, "Hold the Girl." I didn't really have much of a response to it other than it is simply way too poppy for my personal taste. I think she's doing some really interesting things with the lyrics re: race/sexuality (shout out the Cathy Park Hong reference w "Minor Feelings") and also there's some guitar shreddage for sure on "Phantom," but yeah most of the songs are p poppy which is cool just not my ting.
