Candid, Whitney (5/10)

"Candid" is Whitney's cover album from 2020. While I've loved a few songs (I think this cover of "Take Me Home Country Roads" with Waxahatchee is my favorite version of this song), I had never listened to the whole album nor had I realized it was a whole cover album! Whitney can be a hit or miss for me with their very idiosyncratic vocals. For this album, most of the songs were just meh for me (I think I just didn't love a lot of the songs they chose to cover), but I really like a few of them. I'd go see if you know/like any of the songs they cover, and then maybe listen to those (and listen to my favorites). Favorite tracks: Take Me Home, Country Roads, Hammond Song
