World As Bad Idea, JUMBO (6/10)

The debut EP from newish band, JUMBO, came out on July 1st. It's five songs, and they're honestly pretty decent. Kind of like Flyte meets Alex G Race Album (with a lot more layered vocals) meets Sylvie?? idk lol. It's got the very raw analog nature of the Alex G album but it's not as stripped back (not in terms of production but in terms of amount of sounds); it has a lot of layers of instruments (string and brass) and vocals, and the actual melodies are relatively poppy. It's interesting and novel for sure. Don't love all of the songs but I was definitely impressed by the creativity and uniqueness of the sound.  Gonna keep tabs on them for sure. Favorite tracks: World As Bad Idea, Leaves, That's Tarmac!
