Celebration Rock, Japandroids (5/10)

This is a pretty big/classic indie rock album from 2012 that just had its 10 year anniversary so was getting some attention recently. As a Japanese American rock fan, I was pretty excited knowing nothing about it besides the band name, the album title, and that it is relatively beloved amongst the indie rock fans of the 2010's. Given that I gave it a 5/10, I would say it is pretty accurate that I feel absolutely neutral about it. I think the actual music is good, but it's not really my taste. It's rock. It has good drums and guitar and vocals from both men, but honestly I found it a bit boring and underwhelming given my high expectations.  I don't really like the vocals that much, but I can definitely see how it would be a cult classic amongst a certain group. Anyways, yeah - generally meh about the whole album, but I know a lot of people LOVE this album so… I guess give it a try if you like rock. Favorite tracks: For the Love of Ivy, Adrenaline Nightshift
