Donnie Darko, Richard Kelly (8/10)

Ok so Bella has a tattoo of Frank from Donnie Darko, so I finally watched it with her so that I would know what her tattoo was about. For context, I was pretty high when I watched this movie so I might have different thoughts if I watch it again sober, but I liked it a lot. Really fun. Great acting from Jake Gyllenhaal. Really fucking weird. I can see why it's a cult classic, and I would definitely consider myself a fan. Not the most artistic or beautiful movie, but I fucked with it a lot (besides the few racist moments but that's what u get in an early 2000's indie movie). >.< I also wondered, though, about the depiction of schizophrenia? and how it was received by the schizophrenic community? will look into it
