Water Lilies, Céline Sciamma (10/10)

I guess I'm also reviewing films now lmao. Anyways, I had never heard of this movie, but I saw a TikTok about it and it looked really good. DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! This is a pretty short French film (1hr 22 min) from 2007 about a high school girl who is fascinated by the local synchronized swimming team (one swimmer in particular). The film is stunning visually and deals really delicately with adolescence, sexuality, awkwardness, straightness, and queerness. I've watched a lot of lesbian movies, and this is my new fav lesbian movie of all time. It's raw and tender and beautiful (and all of the water shots are really amazing). Highly recommend; this movie is perfection.
