a journey..., Hinako Omori (9/10)

Such fucking good experimental ambient/noise music this year thus far!!! I might like this album even more than Åland Island recordings, and that's saying something. Hadn't heard of Hinako Omori before this album dropped, but she's fantastic. This album's an incredible mix of spacey/synthy/electro sounds and also some nature sounds/field recordings and Omori's really stunning voice. It's very diverse in both sound and type/length of song - Will You Listen In is 8:40 while (nature reset gap) is 33 seconds. And again, I was really impressed by Omori's voice which is up there with my favorite discovered voices of this year with Arooj Aftab. Can't wait to get this on vinyl. Also cover art is sick. Favorite tracks: Ocean, (nature reset gap), Yearning.
