Lily of the Valley, 22º Halo (8/10)
Ok wow. Ray Brown of Snail Mail band posted "your favorite band's favorite band" about this album, which dropped 11/8/24. I first listened in my car the day it came out and was really underwhelmed. I was like damn okay ray yeah whatever. I just wasn't digging the vocals I guess. Now I've had it on repeat for the last two hours. Sometimes you gotta be a little stoned to realize the glory of an album. That happens to me a lot but I'm always reticent about it bc I'm afraid of the internet or something. But weed is legal in CA so whatever. Yeah. Try that it if you are resistant to this album upon first listen, and you too might have a revelatory evening. Really really great stuff. Different sounding than so much indie rock rn. Fav tracks: Bird Sanctuary, Orioles at Dusk, Ivy
